San Francisco

We've had a big weekend in San Francisco! We didn't get to do much sightseeing yesterday but we had a great time at our friend's wedding. We were literally the last two to leave the reception dance last night.

Today was our day to explore and we had gorgeous weather. We started by meeting the bride/groom and their families/friends who were still in town for brunch at a Dim Sum restaurant which was delicious. Then we walked to Lombard street, which is the famous curvy road, and took the obligatory picture. Then we went to the Fishermans Wharf which was a really neat area. There are so many delicious looking seafood restuarants and lots of street performers and great people-watching. We had fun walking around and just checking things out. We also walked over to Pier 39 and saw lots of sea lions lounging around on the docks and they were cool to watch. I had some videos of them in my album linked on the right and you can hear them making their goofy call. We could also see Alcatraz from there although we never made it over there.

Sea lions!

After we finished in that area we walked over to Ghirardelli, the most fabulous chocolate place ever. We went to the ice cream shop and got a cocoa shake made with Ghirardelli hot chocolate and vanilla ice cream, it was really good. We enjoyed that there in the square.

This evening we went to a Mexican place for dinner not far from our airbnb and that turned out to be really good as well. Matt tried Pupusas which is a Salvadorian dish and he really liked that!

Tomorrow we get to do some wine tasting in the Napa/Sonoma area!
