Bondi Beach

Today was our beach day! We had breakfast at the hotel again while watching a bit of basketball (glad KU won!). Then we packed up our gear and headed to the beach.

We took the bus to Coogee Beach at first and then walked along the "coastal walk" to Bondi Beach. It was a two hour walk that took us right along several bays and beaches and it was very pretty. It also took us through a beautiful old cemetery right on the water which I thought it was really cool. I find it fascinating to wander through old cemeteries and look at the names and the dates and wonder about the lives of the people buried there. Plus it was just beautiful location; I definitely wouldn't mind being buried there.

We made it to Bondi Beach and first checked out the shops along the water and grabbed a smoothie snack. Then we lounged on the beach for awhile soaking up the few rays we could get; it was mostly cloudy. When the sun finally peaked through Jack and I ran into the water. It had pretty big waves so we enjoyed jumping over and under them for awhile until we were told we needed to either get out of the water or move to a safer location. There were also a ton of surfers out so it was entertaining to watch them out there. I took a few surfing lessons when we were in Hawaii last year and I'd like to give that another go someday when I get the chance.

We grabbed some dinner before leaving there; I got some sushi and the guys ate at a Brazilian place. I spent less than $10 on food today so I was feeling pretty good about that.

We took the bus back to our hotel and came down to the executive lounge for awhile for free drinks/desserts and do our computer things- blogging and research for tomorrow. I added all of Jack's scuba videos to my album and they are amazing so you should check them out. It's the album linked on the top right, and if you sort by recent activity it's a bit easier to identify Jack's videos since I just uploaded them. Otherwise it's sorted by date taken and it gets all mixed in with my mediocre videos. I also added a couple of videos to the Scuba Diving post, Here is a link to that post if you want to check them out. The videos are of the sea turtles and of the first part of our last free dive, they are both also in the album.

  1. Those scuba videos that you added are fabulous - thanks Jack! And that was a good tip to sort them by Recent Activity - that helped. The cemetery did look really cool - I like to wander around old cemetery's too - there is just something peaceful and humblng about it. It reminded me of a cemetery that Dad, Spark and I walked around in when we were at Bermuda. Did you eat at Chish n Fips??

    1. I'm glad you like the videos, they are really good! I'm really excited about them.

We did not eat at Chisholm n Fips, I just thought it had a funny name.
